Trace Heating Monitoring Unit Description
The ESH Trace Heating Monitoring Unit Type THMU provides automatic monitoring and "Circuit Switch Over"for Trace Heating for Process Control & Sprinkler Systems. When used with ESH Constant wattage Heating Tapes.
The Temperature sensor circuit is monitored for both open & short circuit conditions with LED indications for both faults.
Should a fault occur in the sensor circuit the unit will automatically provide Heating power thus providing “Failsafe” operation.
If the Sensor Temperature falls to Heating Set Point (Pre Set for 4°C) the unit will automatically provide Heating power to the primary circuit . The unit’s design automatically monitors the actual power integrity of the two heating outputs at 2 hourly intervals and switches from the primary heating output to the secondary heating output automatically should a fault occur within the primary Circuit.
The Heating “ Set Point “ can be adjusted in the range from 0 to 18°C by using the LED Bar Mode Switch and Internal “ Set Temp “ control . With the LED mode Switch in the Sensor position the Sensor temperature is shown by the LED Bar display. A remote ( N/O ) input is also provided for a external Thermostat/Switch to be fitted to override the sensor circuit setting.
The THMU monitors the Trace heating in the range from 62.5 W to 3.25 KW. Internal DIL selector switches selects the power output to be monitored.
